Data from the Syros Alphabetical Birth/Baptism Register (1828-1858) are often inconsistent with those of Argenti or the actual church baptism register. The conflict partly arises from Gregorian-Julian calendar use and the imprecision and inconsistency with which data are entered; i.e., whether date of birth, date of baptism or date of registry entry.
