Betty Northesk Cigarette Lighter

Item fetched £480 at Bonhams auction, 1 Dec 2010. DUNHILL: A 9 carat gold 'Bijou Sports' lighter, by Alfred Dunhill, London 1929, engine turned decoration, applied initials "B.N" below a coronet, underside of base incuse stamped "Pat. No. 143752", "Other Patents Pending", "Made in England", height 3cm, length 4cm, diameter 1.6cm. Provenance: Presented to Elizabeth Vlasto, Countess of Northesk (known as Betty) by her husband the 11th Earl of Northesk.
