Monuments, The Holy Church of St John of the Chiot

Ioannis Kolakis and Matthew Calvocoressi took these photos of monuments in the Holy Church of St John of the Chiots, Galata, Constantinople/Istanbul. The former formed Ioannis' powerpoint presentation at the Korai Library, Chios, during the September 2009 Agelasto family reunion. The Calvocoressi photos were taken on a family trip.

Demetrios John Calvocoressi, died 28 Apr 1885, aged 69; Helen D. John Calvocoressi, died suddenly 29 April 1863, aged 31, mother of 6 underage children. This tomb was erected by her deeply mourning husband; photo courtesy Ioannis Kolakis 2009, translation by George Agelasto.
