The 1860 Census for Ermoupolis, Syros, reports a household consisting of Stephanos Galati, no profession, married, male, parent; Helen St. Galati, 50, female, parent, married; with the following unmarried male children: Constantine, Lysandros, John and George, all merchants; Paul, clerk/writer; and Andreas, student; daughters Marietta, 19; Catherine, 15 [listed as married, merchant, a computer glitch?]; Mimina, 12; also, Margarita, 78, widow. The 1870 Census: Stephanos Galati, merchant, married, male, parent; wife Helen Galati, daughter of John Negroponte, 48, origin Chios with the following male children: Constantine, also married; and Lysandros, John, Paul and George, all merchants, and Andreas, no profession, all unmarried; daughters Marietta, 28, married; Catherine, 24, single; Mimina, 21, single, all origin Ermoupolis.
