Stamati (son of Michael (Stamati) Agelasto and Hypatia (Alexander) Sevastopoulos) was born in 1827 in Constantinople/Istanbul Turkey; died on 07 May 1897 in St Dionysios parish, Athens, Greece. On the list of graves in the churchyard of St John of the Chiots, Georgiadis mentions the grave of "Hypatia, daughter of Stamatios Agelastos from Chios, born 23 March 1857, died 24 October 1862." The other recorded Stamatios Agelastos in Constantinople had a daughter named Hypatia about this time.

G. Washburn in his book on Robert College, Constantinople, mentions a "Yanko Agelasto" as a witness to the signing of a school document in 1868. Yanko, a familiar form of John, could have been John Stamati Agelasto, 9 years old at the time.

J. Agelasto, domiciled at R. Van Immerzeel, 12, Anvers/Antwerpen, was marketing tobacco products at a trade show Oct 1885.
