    The 1881 England census shows the household living at "Melos", Lodge Lane, Toxteth Park, Liverpool: Pericles Negroponte, 57, head, widower, cotton and general merchant, born Trieste, Austria; Paul P. Negroponte, 21, born New Orleans, USA; Pandia Negroponte, 19, born New York; Franga Negroponte, 12, born Liverpool; Emma Bennett, 80, widow, his mother-in-law; Helen Macfarlane, 42, his sister-in-law, and 2 servants.

    The 1900 US census lists a Paul P Negroponte, 38, cotton merchant, born Feb 1862, in Louisiana, married 5 years, his father born in Greece, his mother in England, and his wife Louise R., 31, born Nov 1868 in New York, her father born in England, her mother in New York, living at Apt. 90, 2131 Broadway, New York, New York.

    The 1920 US census lists a Paul P Negroponte, 69, born in Louisiana, and his wife Louise, 60, born in New York, living in Hamilton, Connecticut, no occupation.

    Occupation: 1900, cotton merchant. de Valliere & Negreponte, established 1890, is on Contopoulos' list of principal Greek commercial houses in New York City. Located at 17-19 William Street, it was one of two principal brokerage houses. During the middle of the 19th Century Covas & Negreponte also operated. Between 1870-1910 Paul P. Negreponte was a member of the New York Cotton Exchange, admitted as an attorney in 1890.

    On July 20 1903 he filed a US passport application.

    Mr. P. Negroponte attended the juvenile fancy dress ball, part of the mayoral assemblies at the town hall (Liverpool Mercury, 13 Jan 1885).

    P.P. Negroponte was a new arrival at Northbrook House and is included in the Southsea Visitors' List ( Hampshire Telegraph and Sussex chronicle, 9 Jul 1892). He is included in the listing with Mrs. Macfarlane.

    Paul P. Negroponte, New York, N.Y. received building patent #370,207 for weather-guard for doors (The American Architect and Building News, 1 Oct 1887, p xi); Scientific American 8 Oct 1887, p 235.

    P.P. Negreponte attended the 5 Feb 1893 wedding of E. Pilalas and Catherine Elesteropoulo at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, W 53d St., New York City, along with Michel Agelasto, Theodore P. and Mrs. Ralli, and John C. Maximos.

    P. Negrepontis was a lampbearer for the Sepulcher, the Greek Church of Manchester.
