    Notes:

The brothers Theodore A. Ralli and John A. Ralli, according to John (Matthew) Ziffo, John A's grandson, were the richest Rallis. "They set up in 1848, the year of the Crimean War. Theodore was established in Vienna; when he retired to Athens he bought a lot of valuable land, built the finest house in Athens of all white marble, in the Omonia Square which after his death was occupied by the British Legation. England paid rent for many years, £500 in gold, and ultimately bought it. I believe it is still [in 1933] occupied by the British Ambassador. He owned the plots on which now stand Schliemann's Museum, the Hotel Grande Bretagne, the Royal Stables, etc."

Theodore A Ralli, 44, b. Chios, married, having arrived Syros 1833, merchant, swore allegiance to the Greek state on 5 Mar 1837 at the town hall, Ermoupolis.

Theodore married Marouko (Alexander) Ziffo in Dec 1829 in Trieste, Italy/Austria. Marouko (daughter of Alexander (Ambrosios) Ziffo and Maria (Ambrosios) Negroponte) was born in 1801 in Chios, Greece; died on 02 Dec 1876 in Florence, Tuscany, Italy. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
