Notes |
- A Stam. (N.) Agelasto is mentioned as a commercial enterprise by Georgiadis and cited by Zolotas. He is listed in the 1870 business directory as a merchant in Constantinople: Stamboul and Galata.
- Stam. N. Agelastos is listed in Georgiadis as a member of the Administration Board of St John Church for the year 1863. Elsewhere Georgiadis refers to a memorandum from a general meeting of the St John community, dated 1 Apr 1865 and Stam. A. Agelastos is mentioned as member of the former Administration Board. This is probably the same person and the latter 'A' is likely a print error (George Agelasto).
- 1 Jul 1840: Stamati N. Agelasto, 29, unmarried, born Chios, merchant, arriving Syros 1825, swore allegiance to the government at the town hall, Ermoupolis.
- Residence: bef 1822 Chios; 1825-1840 Syros; 1863, 1859, 1865 Constantinople; 1869 Syros.
- Stamati N. Agelasto, 56, was on the voter list for Syros, 1869.
- Stamati Agelasto purchased 50% title to a bomb vessel named Maroukò [nickname for 'Maria'] and sailing under Ottoman flag. Price: 150 Ottoman gold pounds. Transaction date: 16 May 1860 (Melachrinoudis).
- Philanthropy: St[amati] N. Agelasto, merchant and banker, promises in 1879 an annual contribution of 10 TL (Turkish Lira) in favour of the Patriarchate according to unpublished research by Demetrios Melachrinoudis. [7]
