    • D.[emosthenes] Agelasto was among the nine Greeks born in Marseille after 1830 who declared their intention to become French citizens the year following their reaching majority age. The others included Nicolas Andre Argenti, Michel Rodocanachi, Thomas Zizinia, and Andre Aristide Zizinia [probably Aristide Andre Zizinia] (Echinard).
    • D.M. Agelasto and Co. (through its representative P. Apalyra) was among the two dozen Liverpool merchant enterprises which signed a letter stating how they would deal with, as importers of Egyptian cotton, regulations concerning bagging that put "unnecessary burden on the trade" (Manchester Guardian, 29 Jul 1870, p 2).
    • Philanthropy: Demosthenes and Demetrios Agelasto each donated 200 Francs to the Chios Hospital in 1872 according to unpublished research by Demetrios Melachrinoudis. [4]

    The pictured Eau-forte is an etching made from the original painting then owned by M[onsieur] D. Agelasto, according to "La Peinture Orientaliste," Gazette des Beaux-Arts [Paris], 1894, p. 126, and apparently on loan at an exhibit of Islamic art (Parker Agelasto). He also owned Dehodencq's "La Danse de negres a Tanger" which is now in the collection of the Musee d'Orsay, Paris.
