- A member of the Chambre de Commerce in Marseilles in 1872. Erato Paris writes: "Voici donc une véritable aristocratie grecque, plantée au cœur de la haute bourgeoisie marseillaise... Signe de leur pouvoir et de leur influence tant au niveau local qu'international: leur entrée dans la Chambre de Commerce, lieu par excellence de l'élaboration de la politique économique de la ville port et de son commerce maritime...Paul Rodocanachi sera le premier à y siéger en 1852, suivi par Démétrios Agelasto (en 1872), Alcibiade Reggio (en 1885), Théodore Rodocanachi (en 1887), et Théodore Agelasto (en 1895)."

- According to the Marseille 1856 census his older brother Pandia lived at 45 allees de Meilhan with his wife and their first child. The household also included Demetrius, 23. Although the age is off, he was probably living with his older brother.
- He was a signatory witness to the birth of Maria (Michael) Zygomala.
- He was a signatory witness to the birth of Dimitri Constantin Zafiropoulo.
- On the Electoral Lists, Marseille, France (1877, 1879, 1881) born 15 Nov 1826, Marseille, son of a naturalized father.
- At the College Royal, Marseille, in 1840 Demetrius Agelasto received several academic prizes, including: the Fourth: Prize of Excellence for 1st prize of translation and a Greek theme, 2nd prize of history and a Latin theme, 1st place of latin translation and English language (second year), second place in Latin, third in maths (Echinard). - D.M. Agelasto and Co. (through its representative P. Apalyra) was among the two dozen Liverpool merchant enterprises which signed a letter stating how they would deal with, as importers of Egyptian cotton, regulations concerning bagging that put "unnecessary burden on the trade" (Manchester Guardian, 29 Jul 1870, p 2).
- Philanthropy: Demosthenes and Demetrios Agelasto each donated 200 Francs to the Chios Hospital in 1872 according to unpublished research by Demetrios Melachrinoudis. [5]
- Démétrius Agelasto was one of the financial supportors of the Marseille École supérieure de Commerce in 1872. [9, 10]
- He was a witness at the 1884 Chrystophidis-Petrocochino wedding in Marseille.
- He was a witness at the 1859 Agelasto-Sechiari marriage in Marseille.
- Liverpool Electoral Registers for Demetrius Michael Agelasto: 1870, 99 Upper Parliament St. (abode); Batavia Buildings, 12 Hackins Hey (counting house). He is also included, 1870, on the list of persons "objected to, as not being entitled to have their names retained in the list of persons qualified to vote." He is not in the 1871 census for 99 Upper Parliament St.
