Notes |
- Unknown to Argenti. Mentioned in Zolotas as belonging to the Vitella branch of the Mavrogordato family. Given the contents of Paul [(Eustratios)] Agelastos' letter, we believe her to be the sister of Pandely (Dimitrios) Mavrogordato, 1823-1898, known to Argenti. Paul mentions a connection to Sir Lucas Ralli, through his grand-father's wife, a Mavrogardato of Alexandria. This, we believe, to be the sister of Pandely, who lived in Alexandria at the time and who was Sir Lucas' maternal great-grand-father. (Michael Agelasto & Georgios Agelastos)
- Additional source for this branch: George P. Georgiadis, The St. Ioannis Church of the Chiots in Galata, (Constantinople, 1898), as cited by George Zolotas, History of Chios (Athens, 1928), p 264.
- Residence: Alexandria, Egypt, according to Paul’s 1930 report. Mavrogordatos living in Alexandria at that time included Lucas (d 1883) and Pandely (1823-1898), the sons of Dimitrios (Lucas) Mavrogordato, either of whom could be her grand-father.
