    • Kegan Paul, Trench & Trubner & Co. Ltd. (1891) published Mary P. Negreponte's book of poetry Io and Other Verse, which she dedicated to her grandmother "M.E.R." and her father "E.A.M." A brief review in The Times [London], 1 Apr 1891, pg. 7: "Io and Other Verse" is the title of a volume of poetry in English, written by Mary P. Negreponte, a Greek lady married to a Greek and now living in Paris; she spent the early years of her life in England."

      The following lines are from "Io," a poem of six or seven hundred lines:
