- Founded Ralli Brothers Calcutta branch (Lal Bazaar) in 1851, along with Nicholas George Paspati. He was the founder, with Stephen (Augustus) Ralli of the new firm of Ralli Brothers established in 1866. [4]
- This new firm of Ralli Brothers took control of all the previous interests of Ralli Brothers apart from those in Russia which were taken over by the Scaramangas of Scaramanga & Co.
- The Ralli branches in Liverpool and Manchester took the name Ralli Brothers while the others retained their old names. The name of J.E. Ralli appears on the Manchester Rate Books as owner of Ralli Bros., 11 Bloom St. warehouse, 1886-1887, with associates Nicholas P. Argenti, Stephen Schilizzi; 1872, 27 Peter St., with John Mavrogordato, Nicholas Argenti, Stephen Peter Schilizzi.
