Unknown to Argenti who says George (Antonios) Calvocoressi died in 1893. The service record for George / G.A. Calvocoressi appears on the latter's page although some of it may apply to this man, George John (John) Calvocoressi. The 1881 England census: 9 Devonport St, London household headed by John M. Calvocorissi, 34, retired merchant; Arghiro, 32, both b. Constantinople, Turkey; sons Matthew, 8, b. Liverpool; Pantia, 6, b. Nice, France; Leonidy, 2; George, 11 mos, both b. London; daughter Hypatia, 3, b. Broughton; & 5 servants. 23 Oct 1899: He was issued USA passport #187, by the US legation, Constantinople, claiming citizenship through naturalization of his father. He states he will return to the US after putting his affairs in order and that he will be travelling to Paris to "pursue a course of study." Witness was E. Eugenidis, perhaps Efstathios Anastasios Eugenidi. George J. Calvocoressi [31 Green Street W1] appears on the 1929, 1930, 1931, 1932, 1933, 1935 [46a Hyde Park Gardens Mews - abode: 31 Green Street W1] 1936, 1937 electoral register City of Westminster parliamentary division, Westminster county/borough.
