    • Christopher Long: I am grateful to Mme Sylvie Clair, head of the Archives de Marseilles who revealed that François is named 'Jules-Henri' on his marriage certificate although he was always known as François throughout his life (the name of his father, killed in WWI).
    • Was it pure coincidence that he and Fanny chose a country house retreat, surrounded by war cemeteries, probably not far from where his father died or was killed on the last day of the war? (Christopher Long)
