Their business operated as merchants, 31 New Broad Street, London, and in Liverpool, Rio de Janeiro, Trieste, New York, and New Orleans. In addition to he and his father, it involved Emanuel George Franghiadi & son Stephen Emanuel (London Gazette 25 Mar 1870, 13 May 1870, 6 July 1875). A third and fourth dividend paid 1s. 4d. and 10d. in the pound, respectively (London Gazette 13 Aug 1872, 24 July 1874).
- The 1861 census: visitors staying at the Star & Garter Hotel, Richmond Hill, Petersham, Surrey included Stephen Franghiadi, 68, merchant; [wife] A S Franghiadi, 60, both b. Chios; [son] Eml S Franghiadi, 21, merchant; [daughter] Julia G Ziffo, 22, both b. Manchester.
- Emanuel S. Franghiadi, 40 Broad Street Buildings, London, is listed among the 96 Greek members of the Baltic Exchange 1860-69. At the same address are Emanuel G. Franghiadi and Stephen Franghiadi.
