Chairman of the Eton Fives Association (2003). Fives is the handball game played by teams of two. From the Association's obituary page: "Michael was winner of the House Fives at Eton and went on to represent Oxford University in the late 1940s. He was a mainstay of the Old Etonian Eton Fives club throughout his life and eventually took over as Chairman of the Eton Fives Association in 1996, filling the role with distinction for seven years and bringing energy, ideas and reforming zeal to the job. He was responsible for arranging for the Association to be incorporated as a limited company and was one of the prime movers behind the building of the courts at the Westway sports centre. He was liked and respected throughout the game and continued to serve the EFA after passing the chairmanship on to Richard Barber in 2003, as President from 2007-2010 and a regular attender and valued contributor at EFA Board meetings beyond his 90th birthday.
