The name Eugenios Agelastos appears in a hereditary title certificate issued by the Mayor of Athens, 24 November 1904. He is claimed to be the sole heir and son of Stephen D. Agelastos.
George Agelastos comments:
In 1904, some 40 years after Stephen’s death, appears a person claiming to be Stephen’s son and sole heir. And that claim was of course sustained by the testimony of two witnesses. But why didn’t that person show up by the time of Stephen’s death? Why, during all those years, didn’t he undertake anything against Franca and Maria being recognized as sole heiresses to Stephen? My conclusion is again that this Eugenios Agelastos found (or just paid) two persons to make a false testimony in his favor. In Greece (at least in earlier times, but perhaps it is nowadays still possible), you just need two false witnesses and then you can claim anything. That is my only possible explanation for this confusing story. | Agelasto, Eugenios (unknown) (I1510)

The natural daughter of Michel Agelasto and Gertrude Mildé. After her father's death 1915, she and her mother were forced to leave France for Geneva due to her mother's German nationality. WW I had interrupted Michel's plans to marry Gertrude; after his death his friend Paul Rodocanachi arranged a sort of annuity, approved by French President Raymond Poincaré, a friend of Michel, who had authorized an exemption to permit their marriage. Michel Demosthene Agelasto's paternity is annotated on her birth certificate, 11 Aug 1914, and this was formally accepted by the mother, 26 Mar 1915, at the city hall, Monléon-Magnoac, Hautes-Pyrénées. | Agelasto, Gertrude-Micheline (Michel) (I1188)

He was part of the Marseille commercial house Zarifi-Zafiropoulo -- originally a processor of Russian wheat into flour -- which he ran after the death of his uncle Étienne Zafiropoulo in 1894, supervising the transition from a business in a traditional commercial economy to that in an industrializing society. The Red Deer River Ranches website: In 1947, King Michael of Romania abdicated his throne and was given the opportunity to leave the country with an entourage, the King invited John and Joan Negropontes to join him. From Romania they travelled to Switzerland, then to England, and onto Washington, D.C.. Looking for an area similar to his home, John travelled to Alberta in 1948, at this time he purchased a parcel of farmland where he was joined by his wife and children in 1950. In 1951, his daughter Elizabeth was born in Olds, Alberta. In 1955 the Negropontes family met the Count and Countess Batthany of Switzerland. The two families later took a trip to the Ya Ha Tinda Ranch and Big Horn Falls, the were captivated by the scenery as many still are today and this led to their purchase of the then Snyder Ranch. Along with the exchange of owners, the name was changed to... Red Deer River Cattle Ranch, which then became REDDEER RIVER RANCHES Ltd. The farm that the Negropontes family had near Olds, along with land leased on the Coal Camp flats were the source of feed for cattle wintered at the ranch. The land on the flats was eventually purchased by the Batthany family. In 1956 the Little TeePee was renovated and an addition was put on to house the Negropontes family. In the mid 1970's the Negropontes family took over the complete ownership of the ranch. In a few short decades the ranch once again went through many changes. Long time ranch manager Jack Crouch retired in the 1980's and had to be replaced by Jim Lowry, then in 1983 John Negropontes passed away. In 1985 the ranch was sold to Frank Garnett and Stan Bengtson. | Negroponte, John (George) (I1228)
