    In 1905 the King of England granted Ambrose Anthony Ralli, Esq., Vice President of the Alexandria Municipality, authority to accept/wear the Imperial Ottoman Order of the Osmanieh, Second Class, which had been conferred upon him by the Khedive of Egypt, authorized by the Sultan of Turkey, in recognition of valuable services rendered (London Gazette 17 March 1905).

    He was partners with Theseus Psicha, Alexander Antonio Ralli (who retired from the firm 30 Sep 1899), George Constantine Ralli, Constantine Constantine Ralli, Pandeli Constantine Ralli, Anthony Theodore Ralli and Constantine Theodore Ralli general merchants partners, in Ralli & Psicha, 16 Fenwick Street, Liverpool and as Ralli Sons and Co., in Alexandria and Talcha, Egypt (London Gazette 17 Nov 1899).

    He was vice-president of the Municipal Commission of Alexandria, the first self-governing city in the Middle East (Andrew Serjeant).

    "There was a Theodore, according to the Trade Directories in the late 1840s and early 1850s, who had places of business as a merchant in Liverpool (Birkenhead), Manchester and London, but I have found no mention of him in England after 1853. I do not suppose we shall know definitely whether Theodore ever came to England..."(Andrew Serjeant).
