In 1917 he wrote to his mother that he had met a jury member from the 1894 Empire of India court case who said the jury all concluded that his father was a man of the 'highest integrity, large mind and a giant among pygmies'.

He was co-executor of the estate of his sister Despina Rodocanachi (London Gazette 20 Nov 1914).


He was partners with Thomas William Fry in Fry and Scaramanga, Grain Brokers, 34 Great St. Helen's, London, until it dissolved 31 Dec 1898 (London Gazette 30 Dec 1898).

He co-administered his mother's estate.
