- Demetrius Petrocochino was one of the signatory witnesses to: the birth of his nephew Pavlos (Thomas) Scouloudi; the birth of Michel (Pandia) Agelasto; and the 1865 Marseille marriage of Augustis Salvago and Maria Zizinia.
- Demetrius Petrocochino was in partnership with John Demetrius Caralli [possibly Jean Caralli](who retired on 14 Jun 1865), John Alexander Petrocochino, and Alexander Petrocochino [possibly Alexander Pandia Petrocochino], as Merchants, at Liverpool, under the firm of John Petrocochino and Co., and at Alexandria, under the firm of D. and A. Petrocochmo and Co. (London Gazette18 Aug 1865).
- Demetrius Petrocochino was among the six Greeks born in Marseille between 1821-1830 who declared their intention to become French citizens the year following their reaching majority age. The others included Pandia Agelasto, Leonidas Argenti, Pierre Rodocanachi, Aristide Dromacaiti, Etienne Ralli, Meandre Zizinia, Eustratius Petrocochino, Laurent Dromocaiti and Etienne Schilizzi (Echinard).
- At the College Royal, Marseille, in 1840 Demetrius Petrocochino received several academic prizes in Rhetoric: 2nd prize of excellence, 1st discours francais and Greek translation, 3d & 4th Latin (Echinard).
- Demetrius Petrocochino had extensive correspondence between 1843-1850 with his father. They handled various commodities – cotton, silk, leather, sponges, oil, sesame – for delivery in various ports – Trieste, Marseille, London, Livorne – with various financial arrangements – insurance, guarantees, advances. - An intellectual whose personal library was composed of classical literature and philosophy. He had 'études brillantes au Collège royal de Marseille' 1840-1841, including 5 academic awards. He entered into the silk business with Vastarchi in an unpremeditated manner. He was a careful observer of the rival commercial houses, noting in an 1844 letter to his father how [Michel] Dromocaïti did business. [5]
- He was a witness at the 1853 Marseille wedding of his sister, Ariadne.
- He was a signatory witness to the 1861 marriage of Constantine Negroponte and Angelique Zizinia.
