The 1870 Census: Stephanos Galati, merchant, married, male, parent; wife Helen Galati, daughter of John Negroponte, 48, origin Chios with the following male children: Constantine, also married; and Lysandros, John, Paul and George, all merchants, and Andreas, no profession, all unmarried; daughters Marietta, 28, married; Catherine, 24, single; Mimina, 21, single, all origin Ermoupolis.
