    Notes
    • His sister married his wife's brother.
    • After the end of WWII Alexander Agelasto and John Papaioannou, brothers-in-law, were in the glass business, Papaioannou-Agelastos Glass (begun in 1933), providing the glass for the Athens airport. The company's founders/heirs sold their interest in the company in 1986. According to the Athens phone directory (2007), the glass company is still in business under its founderīs name: 'Alexandros M. Agelastos'.
    • During WWII he was in the RAF. At one point he had to buy the clothes off a shepherd to survive.

    • Mentioned in the 1972 Perris book.
    • His entry in the Athens digital phonebook still appears (2009). The glass business, however, no longer exists. Under the same name, same ddress, same phone number the entry now says "Elevators".
    • An account containing $360,412 in his name is held by HSBC's Geneva branch (2010). The account is included in the Lagarde list, a spreadsheet containing roughly 2,000 potential tax evaders with undeclared accounts.
